This summer we paid a visit to the Vitra house in Basel, spending a day in the calm, inspirational space. If you are interested in design or special interior concepts, it is a must visit when you are in the area.

For comparison: it’s the IKEA trip and stroll 2.0. If you enjoy walking through IKEA’s apartments, bedrooms, and bathrooms, you’ll definitely like this as well. Even if you’re not a hardcore design fan or not into Vitra at all, it’s still a great experience. The way they showcase everything is very approachable.
The place is beautifully designed, and with two nice cafés you can really take your time and have everything you need to get through the day. It doesn’t only focus on the brand itself but also gives a special insight into Charles and Ray Eames, their life and their work. They even store the setup of their office on the campus, which you can see as well. It’s mostly about the designers who shaped the brand and the philosophy behind their work. It shows a timeless energy.
